My head was done at APT in Riverside. Not cheap, and not fast, but he did a beautiful job. https://aptfast.com/

Engine Parts and Machine, in South Gate, did my engine work. I've never had them do a head, but they did a beautiful job on two engines, and they actually specialize in heads. Very good prices. They are on Firestone Place, just a half mile west of the Firestone exit from the 710. 323-569-3035.

So, this is a 1970 spitfire. I believe it was rebuild by checqured flag in chatsworth by the previous owner. I have a huge amount of receipts. But this is what’s going on after I’ve pulled the head. Blown head gasket and gouges in the block and the head. I’d really like to find some more local to San Diego that knows these engines and can tell me if this can be saved, or they can save it? It lasted 30K after checquered did it and it is already .60 over. I spoke to the owner at British Heritage in El Cajon, but he wouldn’t reveal his machine shop source. Any further assistance would be appreciated…

Sorry to see that Joeasaro. That’s a big chunk of iron missing. But out of the block !??

I think you need to be looking to see if the block can be repaired 1st

But you could try any engine shop used to iron engines - are old mustang iron ? As it depends on the ability to fill that gap not the skimming ability.

I can second APT. Unfortunately Dave Anton passed away last year. I'm not sure they are still in business.
