58 BE Are all these fittings necessary on the floorpans?

There are several fittings, screw posts, and access ports that I'm not sure will serve any purpose when I install new pan sheet metal. Indeed, they are missing from the replacement pans I have. Are they really needed? I suppose some water drain is necessary, even though I live in a very dry climate, and this will be a pleasure car only. I can't imagine when I would need access to the inside of the front bulkhead through the rubber plug...? In retrospect, the drains didn't do a very good job preventing rust!

Not required, but those are the items you look for in an original floor. As you say, most of our cars never will see the rain again. When new the rubber flooring would pool water and these drains could be used to get rid of the water. Today carpet acts like a sponge šŸ˜€

Original? Well since the floor pans are swiss cheese that's really not an option. Just interested in hearing if any of these items have an important use or function besides just draining water.

My exterior sheet metal is original for the most part but the rest of the car isn't. And when I am done making repairs a lot more of that won't be, so I'm not in that category. Frankly the original car and engine weren't much fun and barely roadworthy today IMO.

Reminds me of a Sprite guy I once met and asked what year his car was. He said "Every year".
 
I don't know what the studs in your first picture are for, but both of my Bugeyes have them too. Not sure why there is a hole for access to the footwell bulkhead. All of the rest of the drain holes work very well as drains. What causes the rust is that people install carpet, mats, etc. that keep the water that gets in the cockpit from ever getting to the drains. The round thing in your last picture is a threaded location for a seat frame bolt.
 
The studs were for locating the car panels in the jig when the car was originally built.

Not sure about that "...last picture..." because there is only one of these fittings, on the right side (passenger) towards the rear close to the driveline tunnel. That's what makes it so puzzling. It's near the brake and gas line in this photo.
