Hi, does anyone know how the rear number plate mounts on the BJ7, from what i can see there are two self tapped holes already in the bumper but they are set at an angle and not sure how you then fix the metal number plate mount Picture taken from above the bumper)

Those captive nuts are for a bracket onto which the licence plate lamp is secured on UK cars . Theres then a smaller bracket which is bolted to the rear shroud underneath the bumper and the licence plate mounts to that bracket .
You could fabricate something using the captive nuts in the bumper that serves as a mount for both if you dont want to drill the shroud .

Agreed. Shroud mounted bracket with lamp as original. It's possible to install a front bumper - with its capture nuts - for a rear one and vis-versa.

I found this pic of my BJ8 . I took this right before the truck showed up when I sold the car so it has no licence plate on it but if you blow it up you can see the reflection of the licence plate lamp in the rear shroud below the boot handle .
also below the bumper you can see a black bracket with long slotted holes in . That’s the licence plate mount bracket .
