Inner Door Seal Trim Position

Hi, sorry, me again.

I am about to mount the inner door aluminium trim over the carpet and onto the inner sill, but am a bit unclear as to where the trim piece should start/finish, and for that matter if I have the right piece of trim for the right side. I have both sides to fit and two trims.

OK it's not AH but on the TR 6 mine was done like this. I added vinyl to carpet to lock in with seal clip less mat. just centered threshold. MF

Madflyer, thanks, on the healey it is shaped both ends, thats what is throwing me a bit as to which end goes where.
If it didnt have the cut outs i could just center it.

The aluminum goes over the fuzzy edge of the door seal, so it doesn't sit flush on the carpet. The cut outs allow for the upward turns of the seal. The rubber is exposed and the fuzzy seal protected. Screw holes are very near the top of the inner sill.

Chicken, here are some shots of the trim piece on my BT7. This is the original trim remounted in the original holes so I know the position is correct. The screws out low on the inside flat portion. The notch on the front as you can see is very close to the vertical portion of the fuzzy strip. The trim piece covers the fuzzy stip at the bottom of the door to hold it on place so you don’t knock it off with your feet. Hope this helps. I did notice the notches on your trim piece had square corners where my have a rounded radius. The later cars might have been different, I don’t know.
