...or how I spent my weekend.

So here's th' deal... the Hovel could use a fresh coat of paint, been contemplatin' it for a couple years now. Well, two weeks ago Horsemits forces my hand, she goes to the local Home Despot and carts back a five-gallon bucket of "Key Lime Pie Green" exterior paint. I tell a pal who's been eggin' me about it and HE says I can use his pressure washer, but it stalls out after a minute or so and for the use of it I first gotta FIX it for him.

He transports it here on Saturday, big 5 horse Honda engine. I pulled the carb off and went thru it; plenty o' crud cleared out and all shiny-clean. Time for a "test run." Ended up doing the whole hovel in about an hour and a half of constant running. Holding onto that wand for that long is WORK. And I came away lookin' like a drown'd rat. Soooo, NEXT weekend I have th' privilege of white-washin' th' dwelling. I consider all this to be forced labour! I have important car stuff t'do!

Been there... done that. Keep the cooler full :encouragement:

I feel your pain. I started to paint the house 5 times in the last 7 years. Still working on the trim....Paint the house or Put the top down and go for a drive...What to do What to do

It's a Florida thang, Don.

...I'll hunt down a flock of "yard flamingos" next. :jester:

I went there too, Mickey. Song popped into my head with Doc's thread title...

The drowned-rat Doc image is stuck in my mind, though. Good for the morning's laugh.

key lime pie green ain't a bad color. Could be worse...

There's a house down the street that's mint green with a matching mustang in the drive ... makes me slightly ill every time i see it.

Might I suggest this accessory parked in your driveway to match :rolleye:

And if you play the cards right you'll never have to paint again. I'm thinking borrow the pressure washer again and instead of hose to faucet, hose to paint bucket....:hororr:

That'd have me lookin' like a paint speckled drown'd rat! :jester:

It's a "stucco" on concrete block, Don. Our li'l Bunker in Heaven.

Jus' doin' me job, Drew. :smirk:

House paint is a LOT thicker than water, don't know if I'd care to try that with my pressure washer. Fortunately, though, at least around here, you can rent the purpose-made equivalent.

I don't bother, though. Friend of a friend will get it all done for about $500 including the paint and equipment. Just don't try to talk to the crew in English

Doc...I feel your pain with the pressure washer. I worked at a local hog farm 3 years ago and spent 40 hours a week with a 2,000PSI pressure washer wand cleaning pig stalls, walls and floors inside the hog buildings. We had 1,500 sows giving birth to three litters of 8-10 pigs each per year. Job security !!! I was a little wet when I came home at night...and SMELLED really good too . Carla loved it.

Doc, add a little black or brown to the key lime green - olive drab and then aluminum foil the roof! You'll be off the radar and off the grid! No alien abductions or black helicopter visits! :D

The Key Lime is actually yellow, BTW. If any ya'll been payin' fer Key Lime Pie that's green, ya been hoodwinked!

Louie's Backyard in Key West doc... favorite Key lime... yum
