Lake Chargog, etc. is also known as Webster Lake. I heard that the name means "you fish on your side, I'll fish on my side and we'll both fish in the middle" in Indian (Native American) language. I've driven by it several times.

The name of the town is on a sign at the train station there. At least when I was there in 1961 it was. Stopped there while I was stationed in England with the USAF. I took a slide of the sign but found out later that my camera (Argus C3) lens was out of alinement so the slide was fuzzy.

Those cameras were always considered to be nearly bullet proof! We called 'em "The Bakelite Brick"! Do you know what caused it to be misaligned?

I had unscrewed the lens to put a filter on it, I believe, and I evidently had it misalined when I put it back on. I was very disappointed when I was able to see the developed slides.
