WANTED.... More Big Healey Racers

It's time for my annual recruitment campaign. We need more big Healeys on the race track. I know there's a lot of you who are getting tried of the same boring old show and shine. Wouldn't you like to strap on a helmet, pull on some gloves and exercise your Healey like it deserves. You're not getting any younger, the time is now. Don't let the next generation of vintage race fans know only Sprites and Bugeyes as race track warriors.

Hey Doug,
Looks like you fixed the "ding" from earlier this year or maybe end of last year? Looking good as usual and guess we'll all have to live vicariously though your track adventures !
Regards,
Mike

I would love to but it is not in the budget. But, I do have a couple of race items if anyone wants to start. My first Healey had a severly ported and skimmed head which adds tons of power to the car but requires 98 or so octane. So I switched it out for a stock head. If anyone needs it, let me know. compression was 245 with this head and it really goes! I also have a oil pan that holds about 14 quarts of oil.
My car was raced in its previous life. Now I just do 24hours of lemons racing!

Any forward progress is good progress. Keep it up Barry, I know you'll get there.
With the long family history behind your car, I'm sure the Monterey Historics, urrrr, "Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion" is you your future if desired.

Dougie,

I have done just that, although not actually racing, I'm doing sprints and hillclimbs, it's great fun and I get to wear all the gear!!! Love the look of your car and the quality of it's presentation.

As you like classic track racing you might be interested in the photos I took this weekend at the 3 day Silverstone Classic Race Meeting, the biggest event of it's kind in the world.

Check them here:

Good for you Derek -

Sometimes it's just the thrill of be able to unleash the big Healey in the right environment while not having to check my mirrors for the police that gets me excited.

Wonderful pictures, you're so fortunate to get so many historically significant cars in one place. I really enjoy the old transport vehicles as well.

I hope to get back to Goodwood soon, I so enjoy the flavors of UK car events......Pimm's Cup in hand.

Thanks for sharing
