There is the heat deflector you can add between the exhaust manifold and the intake. Also, the mechanical fuel pump adds a lot of heat to the fuel, so bypassing it for a 3psi electric pump is another option without removing the apron. Then, there is going with an electric fan...but that usually requires swapping to an alternator to handle the extra power draw.

Does anyone have experience with Moss Motors reproduction original thermostat with a sleeve to close off the bypass? It costs 10 times other after market thermostats that do not have this sleeve. Does it work to better cool the radiator coolant?

Anyone running one of these? I have been running a plug in the bypass hole with a 1/8 hole drilled in the plug. I did blow a bypass hose last summer but it may have been due to age. Is this new Moss thermostat a better way to go? Around $75 Incidently the temp gauge(which went to higher temp...

My 1964 TR-3 suffers from "vapor lock" too, usually refusing to start after sitting a few minutes. Two things have helped reduce the waiting time: one, leave the hood open, two give the throttle a good jab and hold the pedal down admitting lots of cool air as you turn the ignition off. The burst of cold air seems to make a big difference.

And.... has anyone tried mounting the clear fuel filter vertically ?

And......Taking a thought from many fuel injected cars, how about running a high pressure fuel pump and routing a return line and pressure regulator back to the tank, then using an additional fuel pressure regulator to supply a tee to the carbs ? That would insure a constant supply of continuously cooled fuel.
