I am installing new covers from Moss on my TR6 frames. All is going nicely except that stretching the lower sides of the back cover over the hing clips is turning out to be pretty tough.
The lower lobes of each side have a stiffener in them. Each has a metal plate that clasps on a receiving plate in the hinge of the seat frame. I am finding that, no matter how I stretch the side of the back cover I am unable to pull it down far enough to grasp the receiving plate.
The original stiffeners were cardboard so it cannot be expected to have to pull too hard. The new stiffeners that came with the covers were luan so they were tougher. Still I have had to pull so hard that one has broken already. I can easily make up new ones and remount the clasps a little lower. But as they came predrilled I am thinking that there is a solution out there.
Has anyone found a solution to this.
I am sure that there are previous posts on this but I just could not raise them with a search.
Thanks
Jack
