I have a 1973 2.5PI, Had it since 1978. No problems at all, until last month. I was driving up and down my drive to warm the engine up. After about 4 'laps' I tried to put it into reverse and it seemed to just jam. The engine was still running, but the car never moved. It was really jammed in. I dropped the clutch a few times and finally it popped out. I drove it for 10 miles and all seemed ok, no horrible noises etc. Back home when I put it in reverse, it did it again. I managed to get it unstuck and is now in my garage.
I work in the Middle East 4 on 4 off and over the winter, I have done very little milage due to all the snow.
Is the problem just lack of use or something more sinister, like a selector gone, or worse a kog knackered ?
Any advice please, would be most welcome. Thanks Spikey
