I've been reading posts lately... Lack of time and ugly weather prevents playing with the little car...

I just wanted to make note of the generosity of people...

Not only are people free with their knowledge, but it seems that when a person needs some "item" - there is someone that is willing to go look for it in their "seconds" pile and in quite a few cases seem to be willing to part with the item for only postage.

It makes me happy to be part of this group!

That's it... Thanks!

The "pass it on" / "pay if forward" feeling of this place is sometimes humbling.

I think about selling bits on Ebay and then wonder if someone here might need them.

Sometimes you just have to get something for your lbc bit, so as to replace it with another bought piece, but it sure is nice to be able to just pop in & say "hey, anybody got one of them little doo-dads" and have people just ask you for your shipping address.

I for one am trying to live up to the example set here.

It's not just here. It also happens on "the list". It seems to be something connected to the cars themselves !?.

This winter I needed a replacement heater control spigot. The one that bolts to the engine block. I let it be known and that day one was on the way and the person who sent it was nearly insulted that I wanted to renumerate him even for postage.

A few days later I went to Portland to get the gasket that fits on the bottom from a business that is a Moss distributor. He didn't have any and when I asked if I could pay him now and have him mail it when he got some he said "NO". He wouldn't take any $$$ ----but mailed it anyway. .... Of course I stuck a couple of bucks in an envelope and sent it to him, but WoWzA.. ..

Something about the cars?

The cars, the owners, chicken & egg kind of thing...

Hey Bill - did you see that you & BillM & I are all red early sprite owners now??
What are we going to do about this?

The folks attracted to these cars seem to be more on the regular-guy/gal front. We stick together, a shared passion/illness.

Seems to run through most of the LBC community. It's one of the things that drew me in.

I "Pass it forward" is amazing in the MG/AH world as a whole, but even more so with the spridgets. And I don't want to leave the other LBC folks out either, but I don't have a lot of experience there..

What are we going to do about this?

What YOU are going to do is get yourself together and show up at the BELLEVUE ABFM in July so that we can display them all at once. I'm assuming that you can't get to the Vancouver BC show in MAY, but you SHOULD. It's the best VENUE in the Northwest. I think the show is bigger (at least it was last year) than the Bellevue event.

My registrations are paid already.

See YOU there?

Do we know the date in July for ABFM?
I'm taking son #2 fishing in AK 7/12 - 7/19.
If it's later in the month I'm pretty sure I could get it together in time.

I'll need to do the usual work on a long storage lbc...

Brakes
windshield
replace rubber seal under windshield
Have to replace the seats & steering wheel!!!
etc...

It's always the last Saturday of July in Bellevue. This year I think that's the 25th..

Vancouver BC is always Victoria Day Weekend, one weekend before Memorial Day.

Portland Or. is always Labor Day Weekend. Saturday for show, Sunday for Swap Meet.

The All British Swap Meet in Portland is always the last Sunday of April.

Hello all, It has been awhile since I have posted, but I am hoping that my replacement Sprite will be done for Van Dusen, if not, I am planning for Bellevue. Congrats on the new Sprite, Rick M.
