Well all, its been forever, but she finally has paint on! My buddy shot the SS Urethane for me and did the final once-over and found a few dings I did not catch before I shot the Epoxy primer.
It's Eastwood's Single Stage "Snake (viper?) Red". I'm pretty happy with it.
She's put away in her "storage" trailer for now until I can get my garage organized.
Craftsman storage chests and workbench are going in now..
Hope to have the Sprite in before the end of the month to start re-assembly.
Yeah, it's been 5 yrs since dis-assembly..I'm gonna need some help too. I labeled, but there's lots of things I thought 'surely you'll remember how this went'.. :nonod:

That's ridiculous- I lived in Beaver in the early 70's (and went to W&J in little Washington)
Looks really good Devin!

Nice!

I am also re-doing a red Spridget, but your's will be a lot nicer. I bought mine as a parts car (for the 1275 engine to go in my racer), but the thing is too nice to scrap so I'm doing a quick-n-dirty cleanup and installing my spare 948 to keep it as a runner.

I go to Beaver once a year for the ~PVGP~

I took this photo of the war memorial in Koppel just a few months ago.

Looks nice. Did you use whole rear quarters from a RWA car, or cut out and weld in the wheel openings?

Thanks all for the kind words, it does appear several Spridget folks got their start in SW PA!
My Dad bought this car in Pittsburgh in 1964 as his daily driver.
This is not the same chassis..it had pretty bad tin worm. I started this project when I was about 11, finished it when I was 18 drove one summer, then she went into storage for 15+ years while I was in college, working etc. I re-started the effort in 2006 and vowed not to cut corners this time. It's amazing what you'll do when 18 and ready to 'just drive the thing'. I found some DPO things, but that DPO turned out to be the 18-year-old version of me!

Bryan - I'm a bit torn on the RWA. While I like (no, I love) the look, changing the original body on a somewhat rare 1098 MkII..now seems like a poor choice.
I guess if it really bothers me, I'll change it back! I actually used about 4" around the RWA fender and grafted (inner as well) to the opening.
THAT was very tedious, holding, trimming, fitting, trimming more, etc.

I have a ton of pics of the process. I plan to put them all in once place when done. I'll try to post a few as things progress. I might need the encouragement. I noticed it seemed to work when Drew was putting Tune Bug back together!

Devin, nice work on the Midget. And, it must feel really special to get your Dad's old car going once again.

You're going to love driving this car, trust me. :yesnod:

Great work! They all look so little at this stage don't they. In terms of the RWA, don't worry, they aren't that rare or frankly that valuable. Do it the way you want it and be happy. I think that is one of the joys of these little things, everyone's is different. They suit personalizing.

Thanks JP and Mark..my buddy laughed when I came to pick it up. He said "geez, by the time I squeezed the trigger, I was almost at the end of the panel!"
I like to call it an adult's go-cart. I had an absolute BLAST driving it that summer it was finished. I drove it all over the place and it never stranded me. Thinking of blasting down twisty roads from that summer definitely keep me going.
