TR4/4A Seat rail extension

Hello, I am looking for a solution to seat adjustment in our TR4A that has factory seats and rails. My wife is 5'3" and with the seat all the way forward she still has to scrunch down to use the pedals. I am hesitant to move the rails forward, as I am 6'2" and barely fit with the seat slid all the way bak/. Has anyone solved to this problem? I haven't been able to find any reference to extending the travel of the rails.

I am also 6'2"+ and have found that the rear stops can be altered on the rails. My seats now go back far enough that the seat hits the inner wheel well. Yes I know you are looking at the front movement. If you were to alter the rail to allow the rear movement and then simply move the entire rails forward to allow the more forward movement . You may get the best of both worlds.
If interested I will let you know what I have done to allow more rear movement.

Thanks Charley. That sounds like it should work. I would love to know how you altered them! I was thinking that I might be able to add/cut some additional notches in the rail for the latch to catch. But would love to know how you did this.

On the rear base part you will find a stop. On old ones it is a cotter pin and a bent tab. I will attach a pic of these. On the newer base/slider it is a dimple . On the newer one I drilled out the dimple. Of course on the older one you have your choice of which part to remove. This allows the seat and sliders to move to the rear. You will have to determine how far you need it to move. You may need to drill a hole for the lock mechanism on the one side.
You will also need to move the sliders forward on the floor.
I hope this works for you.
Charley
