I have been trying to get the energy up to install the roller rockers and either am having a brain-freeze or am just pooped. Firstly, what is the proper fastener to use to hole the aluminum pedestals down. The 5/16" fine-thread studs need some kind of lock washer but these really eat into the soft aluminum of the pedestal, and actually make for little filings of aluminum to come off. Not good over my lifters. Never was a fan of Nyloc in an oily atmosphere. Will a flat washer work here under the split lock washer? Trick is to find a flat washer small enough to clear the rocker arms. Regular ones interfere.
That was the easy one. I have backed out all the adjustments on the rockers and want to snug the train down. Gotta find a neutral area that at least one cam lobe is not straight up. Kinda squeamish about snugging the train down against a spring and push rod at full tilt. Guess that is the way it has to be.
It's heck forgetting how you did it before.
