Perfect Afternoon Drive

92F (not a cloud in the sky), the TR4 and the Missus, 6 covered bridges and a cranky Rooster. Spur of the moment drive around our area in Chester County, PA looking for covered bridges. At one the bright red TR was too much of a threat for a territorial Rooster that came out of the bushes like something from Jurassic Park. It jumped up on top of the passenger door almost before we knew it was there. It was "persuaded" to get out of " 'er indoors' face", but stalked around while I took pics of the bridge.

Pity about the graffiti.

Looks like it was indeed a great drive, enjoyed the pictures. I used to live in NE Ohio and did enjoy driving around checking out the covered bridges. I do miss the drives in the trees, and wine country in the fall. A couple more months and we will start to have great driving weather here.

Thanks for the pictures

Ian,

Great pictures and I bet it was nice out driving with the top down.

Is there any other way? Although it would have stopped Foghorn Leghorn from trying to get in the car.

I just had one of those perfect late afternoon drives also. We drove last night from Williansburg, VA to Yorktown via the Colonial Parkway next to the York River...it was beautiful, not hot, just right. I was playing my top hits MP3 for years 60-65. What could be better........know your feeling.

I was out in the TR6 for about 40 miles yesterday and with the 90 degree weather, but partial clouds, it was perfect roadster weather.

Nice pictures, the rooster reminds of driving in Hawaii to my mom's house
and fighting them off on the ol'dump road.

Normally I would agree with you Don. There were just enough high, white puffy clouds to keep the hot sun off the dome. But just in case, my trusty yellow TR6 ball cap was under the seat.

You are correct! I'll admit that my wife and I were out cheating in the Tbird with the top down.

With the Triumphs off the road for so many years, we really missed driving with the top down until we got the "new" car. We're looking at a low mileage Miata for my son as well. Hopefully some day, I'll have the garage and time to get the Triumphs back on the road as well.

Convertibles are a tradition at least in my family as at one time growing up we had the following at my parents house:

1966 TR4A - me
1978 Volkswagen bug convertible - my sister
1976 Fiat Spyder - my brother
1980 Volkswagen Rabbit convertible - my Mom

We live about 10 miles away from the start of Amish country. We passed at least 30 of them out for their Sunday Afternoon trot. Only problem was dodging the "road apples".
