Re: Parts book BN1 100/4 for orig. fastener select

I'm looking for an original or a copy of an original Austin Healey Parts book to support the restoration of my 100/4 BN1. In particular I'm trying to find the correct fasteners sizes etc...
There was a number system used to describe "standard" fasteners. It is published in a couple of places. Unfortunately, a lot of Healey fasteners were not considered standard, didn't fit the system, & the parts book numbers give little clue to what the actual fastener is. Especially on the older cars. BN1's had a strange mix of different thread systems which complicates the issue.
Reprints of the factory parts manuals are available from
https://www.britishcarspecialists.com You can also order replacement fasteners which may or may not be the same as original. The whole thing can be very frustrating if you are trying for concours correct original.
The "Austin-Healey Restoration Guide" by Gary Anderson & Roger Moment also contains a short section on fastener identification. It is available from Moss & other sources.
Take extra care to identify original fasteners as they are removed. On an old car that may have had fasteners changed along the way, this may not help.
Good luck,
