I went to British Auto Wrecking in West Seattle yesterday.
I wanted a heater duct they had for my Midget.
I mentioned I have this MGC project and the guy took me up to the yard and showed me a 69 MGC GT tub.
No running gear, no axles, hubs or wheels and as it sat no front fenders.
Just a tub.
He said he would work up a package deal with two good front fenders and call me within a week.
I'm sure they will want too much, the guy has a NOS Midget grill up on the wall - the black one with the chrome trim in the center - with a $300 price tag. I mentioned the same one is available on Ebay for $150 brand new old stock in the box.
At least he knows he's dealing with someone who knows "something".
This tub isn't "pristine" but it's one heck of a lot closer to me than New Mexico. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
It has rusty but solid floors, the inner fenders are solid & undamaged, the rockers are solid and not rusted and the rear wheel wells have surface rust but are solid. There's surface rust just about everywhere but I couldn't see cancer anywhere. He has to pull all the stuff out and properly examine it.
It's got a few hundred pounds of "parts" inside, some MGC & some other. There was a Triumph bumper in there.
He said whatever MGC stuff was in there would come with the deal.
If I went this way at least I'd have a cancer free shell to start with, it would be sad to part with old #7651 but she would have to become a donor.
I've got to ask these guys if they deliver /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
Now - where do I find plans to build an MG rotisserie? It would make it so much easier to work on this thing /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
