Yeah, there are lots of bad jokes about boats. We too have had good luck with boats, and most have treated us very well. There was the time I fell off the sail boat, out alone on the lake, and watched it sail away. We live in lake country and spend lots of time on the water; even bought a new slalom ski last summer.
That boat on BAT does look interesting, but the market for old wooden boats is unpredictable. A friend did a beautiful job on a mahogany boat from about 1960 and can't sell it, even at pretty much a give-away price. I have a late 1950s fiberglass boat, designed by Raymond Loewy Studios (designers of the 1953 Studebaker Starliner and other cars), in the queue for restoration. It was beautiful once and could be beautiful again.
