Wouldn't a superb BN2 with an aluminum head, headers and a cam be even more fun?
As someone who owned a standard BN2 and a real, authentic, honest-to-DMH 100M at the same time, I can report that the driving experience was indistinguishable. So one day a guy asked me if I'd sell the 100M, I named my price and he took it, and I've never looked back. If you ask me, the 100M is more about status than driving fun. My standard BN2 delivers every bit as much driving fun as the 100M, and I worry about it a lot less, too.
Of course, my standard BN2 is not so standard anymore with Le Mans distributor and carbs, and a warm cam and slightly-higher-compression-than-stock pistons. Here she is, in a recent formal portrait:
