Daily Driving in -17C!

Was out for a stroll during lunch in downtown Toronto yesterday. A brisk -17C with the wind factored in. Low and behold I saw a dark blue 6 that I've seen several times in the area, but not in this kind of weather. My first thought was "Really? With all that road salt and the not-built-for-cold interior". My second thought was "good on ya".

...I dunno - maybe the real daily driver was in the shop and the 6 was a necessity - that's one tough 6!

Wow, that’s pretty much 0F. When it gets there or colder it doesn't really matter what the thermometer reads, it's just cold. And we have people here complaining it’s not up to +10C so they can drive. The road crap though, I like to wait until after a couple of good spring rains to clean it off. It is spring, isn't it.

Well said Lou. Not only was my TR3 my daily driver between 1964 and 1974, it was my only driver. At that time I thought it was great fun to drive to Cannon Mountain for skiing with the top down any time it as above -5C and sunny. Tom

Though I live in Austin, TX, it's been cold here for us. Sub freezing many nights this year. My Spitfire is my only car, and the top is barely good enough to keep me mostly dry. Tape over holes, on cracks in windows, etc. But I'm about to hit 13,000 miles in just under a year. I love relying on it, it has yet to let me down.
