I got lucky and get to go to see the cars run at Bonneville for a few days. Is anybody from the FORUM going to be able to go? I have been a couple of times and it is like no other car event that I have ever attended. Thanks, Bill Close, Mesa, Az.

I will take pictures but will have to ask for help in loading them up. Bonneville was always on my BUCKET LIST and when I first went 3 years ago, I come back every year. This event is for hard core car/gearhead guys. You see alot of unique ideas and it was not like I pictured in how to build a car for Bonneville. I'll take pictures. Thanks, Bill Close, Mesa, Az.

Hey Bill,

If you don't have an online photo sharing account, I'd recommend getting Picasa (from google). It's pretty simple to use, and the software you download is great for simple modifications of photos on your computer (e.g. cropping, red eye removal, that sort of stuff). The other commonly used one is Flikr. My wife prefers that one, but then, she's just ornery that way.

I'll throw in a plug for photobucket as it seems the easiest to use for me. No apps to download and install (so I can access my account from any computer, including at work); and it doesn't require others to create an account just to look at your photos. Also easy for others to get a copy of the entire album in one ZIP file (which appears to be impossible from Picasa & Flickr).

And it's easy to get the IMG links that are needed to make your photos appear on BCF, too. When you hover your mouse over a photo in album view, a pulldown appears with the various kinds of links to that photo. Click on the "IMG Code" box,
GetIMGcode.jpg

press Ctl-C (assuming you use Windoze), then switch to your BCF post and press Ctl-V. While you are composing your post, it will look something like
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Code:</div><div class="ubbcode-body ubbcode-pre" ><pre>
DSCF0029_crop.jpg
</pre>[/QUOTE]
but when others view the post (or you use "Preview"), it will appear as
DSCF0029_crop.jpg

Before you go, watch "World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins, if you haven't already seen it(or even if you have). A must see!

A word to the wise from someone that knows ..... if you go to Bonneville Salt Flats take sun screen and plenty of liquid to drink .... there is NO shade except for the shadows of vehicles, popups or umbrellas. AND it can [and usually does] get pretty hot out there.
Otherwise ... some pretty awesome stuff to be seen for sure.
