Another reason why it's great to own a Spridget

I just moved into my first home this past July that has a small single car garage, while considering new options for a winter home for my Midget - (because my old winter storage area is filled as I just bought 2 TR3 projects cars to fill that space)- I got to thinking about storing it sideways across the back wall with room to park my daily driver out of the snow as well...

I got out the measuring tape & decided to buy some wheel dollies... gotta love how you can spin a Spridget sideways in an ol' 1950's single car garage put it across the backwall & STILL have room to park your daily driver honda civic inside so you don't have to scrape the ice & snow off.

Just thought I would share another reason why owning a Spridget is such a good thing - also might help justify a purchase of one to your significant other if you can show how they can still park their car in the garage

Great work there. I measured my garage last year, and I'm pretty certain that it would fit across the back if I could clear out some of the junk. Small cars are a good thing for sure.

When I moved to this location my Sprite sat in the front of the garage for 15 years. When I started working on it back in 2002 the tires were flat and stuck to the concrete floor. I had to use a pry bar to slide it away from the wall. It shared the garage with a minivan and my Honda Civic. I have a photo but don't know how to attach it.

I did the same thing with mine, but having a new driver in the family prompted me to put in a tire stop for the incoming car.

Rather than use a block that could move/slide on the floor, I made a Tee, which had a piece of wood that fit against the wheel of the Sprite, and a leg of appropriate length, to a 4X4 block that would catch the daily driver's tires.

I managed to fit FOUR Sprites into my "2 car" garage back in MI.

& I still had room for the toolbox, trash can, & a Miata hardtop!
(Yes, dollys were required.)

I'm now shopping for a new home in GA, & the realtor cracks up as I step out each garage to figure out how many cars I can fit in!! I'm eventually planning on building a large workshop (maybe as big as 40x60), but I'll be happy to find a "4 car" garage right now as that MIGHT be large enuf to store at least my 5 Sprites, 2 Triumph GT6s, & a vintage London Taxi. (All of the Jeeps will have to settle for off site storage.... for now...)

Oh Yeah, I'm hoping to get a house in the deal too!!

How about a large warehoulse with a small bedroom, bath, and kitchen tucked in a corner.

The house I used to live in had a large 2 car garage that I parked the BE in crossways in front of the TR 6 which left room for the misses van on the other side, the BE simply could turn into the space. Still had room for a beer refridge, a television, tools and a work bench.

I was thinking about relocating to NC last year...talked to a couple realtors...told 'em I was looking for '...a nice 2 or 3 car garage...with er...some kinda apartment over it..."

Decided to stay put and build the garage...
