Spitfire 75 Spitfire needs restoring

I've got a 75 spitfire sitting in my garage thats been off the road for about 20 years. It was the first car I ever bought and I'm having trouble letting it go. Too many good memories. I thought it would make a good project for my son and I to work together on for his first car but he's just not interested in fixing it up.
So I'm looking to find someone in the southern Ontario area to restore it. Anyone here have any recommendations for a good and hopefully reasonable shop where I can take it?

Welcome to the forum! a fellow Ontarioian /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif I do most of my own work...so I don't know of any shops off hand(and any of the good ones I did know have long since shut down) You might wanna give Ken Mason a call...He's in orangeville and does restorations, but I haven't dealt with him in years...I do have his # if your interested. The other place would be Precision Sportscars, google them. I know they do really good work. I've owned a bunch of Spitfires and can offer some advice, but it's been awhile since I've looked under the hood of one of those.I probably still have some spit stuff kickin around here too. If your interested in selling the car, I am always buyin....Otherwise I hope to see you out an about(maybe at some of the shows this year). PM me if you want Ken's #...or any other info.

Hello Oakville. I have a daughter in your village going to college, so if you see a girl flashing money, she belongs to me. I live closer to London which is likely too far for any restoration shops you would be interested in. How is the car bodywise, cause there are lots of coaches here if you decide to do mechanical yourself. And I have been known to travel distances to help people out. Anyway, stay in touch, and if you want to know names or just chat, PM me.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Great to know there's local people here on this board. Last time I had the car running it was pretty good mechanical wise, just one cylinder that was a little off pressure wise. Interior is fine although there were some mice that decided to make their home under the drivers seat so there is a funky smell in the cabin. Biggest problem is the body and the frame. Doors sag when trying to close. I'm not in a panic to get this done so I don't have a problem sending the car out of town. I just bought a 66 Austin Healey which will tide me over till the Spitfire is done. PM's sent.
