Hello All,
I am new to this forum. To cut to the chase, I would like to drive my Grandfather's 65' Austin Healey 3000 to Prom in a few weeks. He passed away 2 years ago and I do not believe it has been touched since, but he had completely restored it and kept it in show car/driving shape up until his passing. I was wondering what to expect if I were to attempt to get this Healey up and running again. Gummed carb? Potential electrical/starter issues? Brake deterioration? Difficulty of fixing such issues?
I am a Junior in high school, but have always had in intrest in antique stuff. I haven't ever seriously worked on an old car, but I have recently completed restoring a 1965 IH Cub Cadet, and maintain a 1974 IH CC that I mow yards with, so I know my way around old cast iron fairly well. Any help/info about any of this would be amazing!
Thanks,
Clark
