I'm happy to report that I have just turned over 250 miles since putting my project officially on the road last week. Nothing of any consequence has hampered my enjoyment as of yet (knocking on wood this very second) but I have identified a couple of things I need to address besides installing the interior trim.
My fuel cell I had made (to my design...) would have worked perfectly but like an idiot, I forgot about the internal baffling when I decided to turn it front to back in the final stages. This was done to change the fuel filler location and I welded a new bung on the bottom forward corner for the outlet. Problem is that I had internal baffles welded in around the original fuel outlet that prevented fuel from sloshing away from the line. When my tank is full all is well, when low, aggressive acceleration or cornering forces the fuel away from the pick-up. I'm going to have to take it out and perform surgery on the baffling system.
The exhaust is just temporary but needs to be dealt with sooner than later as it's got a pretty good harmonic vibration around 6K-8K RPMS and is very annoying.
Need to find a supplier for the R200 diff that sells higher than 3.54 ring and pinion gear sets(3.08-3.15 ideally). I'm turning 3500 RPMs @ 68 MPH which is fine for the engine but somewhat annoying as I can't hardly get it shifted out of first quick enough. Might just replace with a BMW 6-spd which holds all the first 5 ratios the same and adds a .83 OD but with the power and weight I really don't need six gears.
Anyway, here are a few pics I shot this morning in its current state.
