TR2/3/3A 1959 triumph tr3a transmission question

The hydraulics in my car are done for, but when i shift the car into any gear it seems too light and while it goes to the right spot, it doesnt connect to the engine, as in i can spin my rear wheels without the engine. The car has been sitting a number of years , but i never forced it into gear or anything. What could be broken?

Oh, wait a minute. I just saw that photo of your slave cylinder. Not sure how it happened. but it appears that the slave is locked up holding the clutch disengaged. Try removing the cylinder and see if that lets the clutch grab. If not, time to pull the gearbox to service the clutch; you have at the very least a broken taper pin.

Come to think of it, the slave on my "barn find" TR3 had the piston all the way out, too. Maybe the corrosion expands enough to force the piston out, or something.

If the clutch is DISENGAGED then the taper pin is good.

Broken selector fork would be my guess. Take the top off the gbox and have a look.
