Wanted.. Obscure Part[s] for 1966.

I need a bunch of those funny "T" bolts with nuts that slide into the channel to hold on the surround on a '66 Spridget. The ones from McMaster Carr aren't quite the right size....I only have 4 of which two are stripped from a total of about 15 needed.... ...

I don't have a picture... It's the vinyl covered rear cockpit surround. You have at least one of the cars, but I don't know if you have spares. They look a lot like this..(https://www.mcmaster.com/#t-bolts/=cx46lk). The nut size is 5/16", and I THINK the bolt is a 10/32, but I can't remember.

VB has them, part 12-2842, the screw is 12-2263 and the nut is 12-922t number

Nope, those are for a BE and go in from the front. The "T-bolt" is one piece. The T slides into a channel and has no head. The channel keeps it from turning. I've not seen them for sale anywhere. I'm hoping someone has parted out a car and has a few, but it's not something people normally take off at all.

My 65 had this set up, what they call a spring rests side ways in the channel to pull in the screw and nut, I would say it is the same idea, mine works

Bill L.- I believe they are called "stud plates". You might want to check the ones that hold your door mouldings onto the door- they may be the same size. If so, Moss has them as part no. 326-075. I can dig mine out out of its storage box this weekend if you'd like. I'm almost in the same time frame; I'll be putting the rear cockpit trim on in about 2 weeks.

Thanx for that. It sure looks like it, but I see Moss shows two different ones,326-075 and 326-075. Let me know when you put on your rear trim if they're the ones. Colin in Australia told me the name is stud plates, but when you do a search at Moss for that name you turn up nothing. He's air mailing me a dozen even as I type.

Remember that in England our top is their hood and our hood is their bonnet and our trunk is their boot and etc.

Australia is much the same with the naming of things, that is to say: not the same as us.

It's hard to say what "stud plate" translates into here.

Bill- I finally got around to installing my rear cowl trim today. The stud plates from the door caps will work, however, the screw is a tad shorter than what is made for the cowl trim.

I need at least FOUR long ones... Here's the situation. I have a plexiglass windblocker. The mounting kit for it get installed "up and under" and uses those "stud plates" to hold it in place. The windblocker goes onto those (You'll see at the 50th.) So the studs need to be at least 1/4" longer just to accomodate the extra thickness. It's easy to overtighten and thus strip those little studs, so I'm after some spares. I got some from Colin in Australia, but wouldn't mind having a few more, as I've only installed seven of the twelve for which there are holes.
