What a great weekend! The weather man predicted lots of rain but it really did not materialize--my only wet session was Saturday morning's qualifier.

Almost 200 cars registered and with the free Thursday test day for early registrants there was lots of track time. Groups were large but pretty well put together and there were lots of dicing opportunities--Nial and I had one great session in particular and I am looking forward to seeing his videos. I saw Hap there though I don't know how his cars did.

Another great VRG event!

I'm writing this from the NH Vintage on Saturday AM. Will post (excellent) videos and photos from Summit (and NH) when I get home.

Had a great time at Summit despite the flooded ride home.

Michael, nice seeing you again and Nial nice meeting you. I had new Acme race engines in the two McConnell MGBs, and that part went as lovely as I could have possibly hope for, both engine preformed flawlessly all weekend long, so engine builder wise, I was a very camper

Fred Jr had a new totaly adjustable headley suspension in his MGB roadster and with great adjusatbilty comes great adjustment, so we piddle with that quite a bit over the weekend. For Jr. the weekend was bascily a a big test session, we actually installed his new race engine at the track Thrusday, and actually broke in the new motor in Friday hour enduro. Fred did well overall, posted his fastest lap ever at Summuit Point a 1:29.6, so he was happy about that, and he was the fastest MGB by a preety good bit, and thats always our target be the best MGB, so mission accomplished there as well. Our weekend did turn a bit sour in Sunday's Sprint race when Fred overcooked turn 1 on the start and got into Kent Prather's MGA, never a good thing to run into your hero, but in racing, stuff happens, Fred made peace with Prather. He had already flat spotted a front tire earlier in the weekend, so I think we may have a front brake issue, maybe too much front bias, and that may have caused the the metal to metal with Prather.

Fred Sr. while not a quick as Fred Jr, he did improve his his SP lap times by like 8 seconds with his new Acme engine and up rated suspension pieces. During Sundays sprint race, the skies opened up and the rain really came down in the second half of the race, and with folks pulling off or slowing down Sr. did well passing cars in the wet, and netted a thrid overall in the race, so a very good weekend for him as well. He prepped his car very well, we hardly touched it all weekend.

Nial, see your problem on the flooded ride home was you were headed in the wrong direction :jester: Heading South we saw blue skies less than 30 minutes from the track.
