I’m sure that many of you saw pictures of Jim Hockert’s beautiful Rally Race Car after he spent more than 10 years building it.
A year ago, as he was finalizing the build and preparing for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (www.ppihc.com), he had an engine fire that destroyed a much of his car. Many of you saw the pictures. If not, here is a link to them - https://tinyurl.com/2ecgstj
After his race car burned up, since they had already made hotel reservations, Jim and his wife went to the hill climb as spectators, so he has the lowdown on where and how to set up for good viewing.
Jim has spent the past year rebuilding his car and is on schedule to try again this year. He is so sure he’ll make it that he has sent in his registration fee (over $1,200) and made reservations.
Last year, I went to Bonneville to watch the Healeys run = https://tinyurl.com/ykfvedc
This year, I plan to RV (towing the Miata) up to Colorado Springs for the 4 day run-up to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the acutal event on Sunday, June 27th.
Is anybody else up for it ?
Come on ! The Pikes Peak Hill Climb has GOT to be on your "bucket list" somewhere.....
Go to www.ppihc.com and look at the pictures and maybe you'll change your mind.
