Very, very nice, eschneider!
By the way, what's the lowdown on the engine? Size, power, etc.?? And, how much does the car weigh??
To clarify, I'm just the wrench jockey on this one. It was a fun car to work on.
I'm told that the engine and trans are 1296cc spitfire, but the engine numbers were removed when the block was apparently decked, and the trans numbers didn't seem to jive with any common information I encountered.
I didn't drive it much, but the motor was well-tuned and crisp. It wouldn't surprise me if the PO had bumped the compression and installed a cam. I didn't spend significant time with the motor. However, the car was VERY light, so that was as much a contributor to the feel as anything else.
I'm guessing the weight was around 1400#, but I didn't weigh it. Certainly less than a Morgan 4/4, which is a scooch over 1600# It is a steel chassis, with an aluminum-skinned wood tube and not much else.
Most of the work I did was re-designing the hydraulics, going through the rear axle, brakes, and electrical work.
Much credit goes to the friendly consult of the North American Singer Owners Club. Thanks, Mike!
