guys, I know I am late to this goatrope, but thought I would detrach from the value of the vocabulary discussion....
When I taught workshops for Ibm customers, I always started out having to give them an intro into "southern-ese", due to my sometimes not enuciating my speech and forgetting that people from other countries don't readily understand Texan....So to prepare them, I would write 3 words(awl, all, and oil) on the board, then explain that they are all pronounced the same and then use them each in a context sentence.... "Ow, I stuck awl in my hand!" "We all went to the park." "****,we found more il in the back forty."
At least it broke the ice in the classes.
Happy New Year, y'all,
Larry
