Not a font - hand lettering.

Correct, not a font, but original art. That said, I've seen some examples of it mimicked well. You'd likely have to hire a graphic artist who would, in effect, create a font using the words Austin and Healey as the basis.

The hood badge of my '62 BT7 has the hypen, and I'm pretty sure it's original. Never noticed it before.

Same here - late -62 BT7 with hyphen.

Side note: Fonts are big business; I used to have to license them for an embedded browser team I managed. We bought them from Agfa--the photography/printing company--and they protected their IP with vigor. If someone comes up with a popular one, they could make money (until they are largely copied and made 'open source').

BigGreen: I have all of the 553 original Metallic Golden Beige cars in the BJ8 Registry, but 40871 is not one of them. Are you sure of the chassis number of your car?

I suddenly have the feeling that I'm somewhere in the Dark Ages, discussing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Or just followed Gracie Slick down the rabbit hole...
But the nice thing is that we're just curious and wondering and looking for knowledge, vs. looking for excuses to bring in The Inquisition.
Our BJ7 (roll up windows) is yet tucked away, surrounded by small remnants of latest Ice Age. Photos imply no hyphen, but pixellated. Shall report it when she reappears. Doug

Just checked the photos in the Concours Registry (if you haven't ordered this per the pinned note at the top of the forum - you really should) and the text states: "The red part of 3000 Mk III badges, up through about the end of December, 1966, was cloisonné, as with the previous badges. However, the hyphen between “Austin” and “Healey” was deleted." Doug

I just checked some pictures of the BT7 I once owned, built November 1960 and its badge has a hyphen.

BJ8 phase 1 built Nov 1963 had no hyphen. (Does now).
