an article about my father's healey

he passed away in january of 2003... which is why i bought a healey. i thought he'd get a kick out of knowing that i was tooling around in one. (buying one proved to be not so simple – as i wear an artificial limb on my right leg and had to figure out how i was going ever be able to drive a standard! ended up simply switching the pedals around,)

Joe,

Thanks for sharing the article .. I had not heard that story. I would imagine that he must have felt proud that his Healey was the only one that DH ever purchased.

Cheers,
John

i believe he was the second owner after dh – i think the car went from england and then back to california... he had it trucked back to ny from there.

o.k. I think I have it now. Made in England, shipped to California, bought by the first owner, then sold to DH, shipped to England, sold again, shipped to California, sold to your father and shipped to NY. What happen to the car after your Dad owned it?

Cheers,
John

Joe: Get in touch with Steve Byers, BJ-8 registrar. Steve lives in North Carolina and his e-mail address is sbyers(at)ec.rr.com. Steve may be able to locate the car and let the owner know you wish to get in touch, assuming that the car is registered with him. He helped me track a BJ-8 that I used to own once, but I never did hear from the current owner afterwards. AL Bradley

will do... thanks.

on a side note, why did you spell out steve's email the way you did? is that an anti-spam thing?

Joe: Yes, that is commonly done (I thought) to help prevent some spammer from picking up his address and sending offers for a fortune to be had in South Africa or those other idiot things that we seem to get bombarded with. I picked up Steve's address from the Austin-Healey Club of America website [https://www.serve.com/AHCA/} and it was spelled out that way there. Al Bradley
