TR6 TR6 A Pillar Seal

Helping a friend with his TR6 -- he has obtained from Moss a rubber seal for the A Pillar. I believe it is #76 in this pic:



A couple of questions:

We assume this is secured with an adhesive (e.g. weatherstrip seal)?

Which way 'round does it go? Seems like the bulge should be outward.

How far down does it go? Seems like you have to trim it a bit at the bottom -- a photo of a correct/original one would be helpful.

And the main thing -- it appears that the thing will do no good as it does not (if we're looking at the install the right way) make contact with the window glass.

He has heard that the Roadster Factory has a thicker seal -- would theirs be closer to original and perhaps actually seal that area?

This may help, my camera battery died with this picture so let me know if you need more. TRF has two sizes one large and one small. Mine is the large, it seals very well. I believe it is larger than the original style. As for the length I'm not sure. Mine looks to be a bit to long. You can see the dent in the seal from the hinge bolt. Black weatherstrip seal work great.

Whoa... big difference in thickness. He will get the large ones from TRF.

I think the reason some get the small is that the large can make the door harder to close. That's what happened when I put new door seals on the TR4 but they soon took a 'set' and now the door closes and seals like a refrigerator.

MacGreagor in Canada sells seals that are supposed to be a perfect fit. I just ordered Bristleflex from him and he was telling me about that seal you're asking about.
