The yellow one is the flasher, but to make sure they were not hooked up wrong (as in reversed), confirm the red one turns on when the ignition key is in the on position but the engine is not started. Conversely, confirm that the red one does not flash when you use the turn signals. If the red one flashed when you use the turn signals then you need to reverse the two then figure out why your ignition light is staying on, and it is probably, either a very loose fan belt, a poorly set voltage regulator, or a defective generator.
