Does anyone know of a method that really works to remove the windshield wiper scratches from the glass? Have you used the method to check it out? Thanks.

I've heard someone makes a glass polish/scratch remover, but I've not tried it.

I have used a glass polisher and it took most of it out for me. Probably a little more time and I could have gotten all of it out. Think I got it from Eastwood.

hmmmm.... interesting stuff.... does it also work on pits? Seems my windshield has picked up a few pits over the years. If this stuff will remove most of the pitting then that'll beat forking out for a new piece of glass...

How are the edges looking? Mine has at least a 1/2 inch of fogging along the frame all around. Comes from de-lamination. I'll be buying a new windscreen soon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

funny you mention that. I have the same problem with my screen... permanantly fogged between a 1/4" to 1/2" all the way around the edge

No sense in trying to fix the pitting then... Youll need a new windscreen soon too.

"Let the Games BEGIN!"

That job is the biggest PITA on an MGB in my opinion. I'd rather do three clutch replacements.

Honestly.

Also, that glass polishing kit can make your window "wavy" if you do not take off a nice even layer. I just replaced the windshield in my Midget (which is a pretty simple job) and I feel like the car drives much better now. It is a very interesting pyschological effect. Sort of like a clean car running better than a dirty one.

I should get some, all the MGB winshields are pitted...and one (the orange 78) has some of that de lamination, not all the way around just on one side.....It's usually caused by the car sitting in the sun too long.

but ... but ... but ... I thought, "A clean car is an aerodynamic car!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

awww, a little "road film" never slowed 'em down.

Some dust on the car helps keep the laminar flow smooth by turbulating the air closest to the car... I'd bet that a dirty car is really more aerodynamic than a clean one of exact dimensions.

And that is why they polish boat bottoms and aircraft?

Or add turbulators to them - hehehehe.
