My new windshield seal is now in place. As suggested here, the K-Y jelly did the trick. Toward the end it took more push and I learned that a generous supply of lube is essential.
Replacing the seals on my Donald Healey hardtop will have me using more of the jelly. Since this hardtop has rear quarter windows the seals for a factory hardtop are not useable. It took a lot of web surfing but I finally found a seal that should work with a little trimming. The seal is made to be used with an International truck. I never would have found it by looking for it by name.
Without the internet for help from you guys and all the material sources that can be searched this restoration would be vastly more difficult.
