Windshield install

STarted putting my windshield together today, bad mistake. Read here that the bottom seal was a bear to put on so decided to do that first. Got it all the way on THEN realized the little angle brackets must go on first. Quit for the day. Since I didn't disassemble the windshield I'm kind of flying blind. Can soneone give me a "step by step" of the order sequence of assembly? Also, the bottom seal is about a foot longer that the bottom chrome . Does it get trimmed off or does it go somewhere? It's a 59 100/6 BN6. Thanks, Bob

Bob, I have been stuck in the twilight zone for the last few months trying to get my bottom seal installed on my 65 BJ8. Since you have a 59 BN6, I will let others comment on the extra length. On my BJ8, the bottom seal is supposed to stick out 6 inches on either side. The extra gets trimmed down in width in order to fold down into the opening in front of the doors after it is back on the car.

Thanks Ed, that's a good start. Now I know NOT to trim it until I am very sure where it goes. Bob

Dave, mentally making progress. I have all new hardware so that's one less problem. Too bad, but I also have the Moss rubber tape, ho-hum. Do you really have to affix the main pillars to the chrome sides first? Seems that will make the whole project more unwieldly. Otherwise the steps seem about as rational as any English instructions I have seen. Thanks, Bob (Sure you don't want to come to Mass and help on this project?)

Bob,
No you don't have to. I deleted the post & the one above. Randy is on track. Sorry to confuse things.
