How hard are they to come by and do they just pop off with removing the center screw, or do you need to take off the door panel?

Remove the screw and it'll come off effortlessly - at least mine do.

Moss's website sucks. Unless you put in the exact description nothing comes up. The sales guy said as much, but it is, what it is.

The part is only $4.65, but the S&H is about $9.00
If I cannot find one locally I will be paying more for S&H than the part itself.

BTW - For anyone looking for it on their site, it is part # 472-520

I know it's very disheartening, but no matter where you buy stuff that has to be shipped, the shipping and handling fees are very high. I ordered a part from another supplier that was a little over $9.00 with a discount, the shipping charge was over $16.00 and it took 10 days to get it! The shipping time is why I won't buy from there again. None of us like it and were all confronted with that problem. Just means that the price of restoring these cars is continuesly going up. I don't see an end to it. Oh yeah, it only takes Moss 2 to 3 days to ship to me. Moss has an 800 number and I've never had a problem. I don't buy through the Internet. PJ

If you look at the diagrams on the site it's simple to find the parts without hunting for them. Moss (and Victoria British) has an excellent parts book they'll probably include with your shipment. It's stuffed with exploded-views of just about every assembly on the car that makes finding the parts and part numbers pretty painless. Get the Moss and VB books and put them with your shop manual(s), they're worth having.

By the way, VB has the regulator handles for $14.95, big difference

WHOA - is that a heavier-duty one? Hard to believe they'd be that far off.

If given the choice of an OE-type plastic, or an aftermarket chrome plated pot metal, the metal ones do last longer (and didn't snap when it got cold, either).

Keeping the regulator and channels lubed makes the handle's work much easier.

On a professional level, I have orders coming from Moss almost weekly, and they are, by far and away, the best of the vendors out there. This is not to take away from the smaller vendors that offer a more personal touch, but I don't have the luxury of time to test each one of them.

In all fairness, I'm a little confused about the $4.65 price. The regulator handle from Moss is over 19 bucks. Maybe I misunderstood or looking at the wrong part. PJ

Yup - my mistake, it's the heavy duty one. The regular black one is $3.95.

Still... unless the cheap ones are really horrible you could get almost 4 cheap ones for that price and keep them as spares
