Like all long suffering LBC wives mine thinks I smell rather too much of the TR6 after driving it. I think the smell is great but I do agree it's a little strong and it's mostly connected to the front ZS carb runnung rich.
I've been messing with these things for a year now and have got the rear one perfect (judging by the plug colour) but I'm damned if I can get the other one right. When I lift the air valve slightly at idle the RPM picks up indicating a rich condition plus there's some black smoke and black sooty plugs.
I've got the float level right and checked by removing the bowl with th carb on the car.
I've got the needle adjustment fully out so there are no more threads left to turn.
The engine is in great shape mechanically and I've got the carbs well balanced.
I've confirmed that the choke is fully off and there are no vacuum leaks.
I took the needle right out of the air valve to check how it fits into the jet and found there is a great deal of slop between them even with the needle fully inserted, but maybe it's supposed to be that way, I would check against the other carb but I dont want to dismantle it now it's sorted.
I've also confirmed that the needle has not slipped back up into the air valve.
So what's left, do I have too much slop between needle and jet? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
