.... thing you've found in a car you bought?
I found an old roadmap (with no Interstates on it),
& the original window sticker,& bill of sell) in the
1968 Cortina MKII that I bought out of estate (1 owner car).

I had a neat one recently. I was working on a set of accessory gauges the previous owner installed. They are on a nice vinyl-covered panel in the center console. When I looked at the rear of the panel, I saw what it was made from...

My Brother found an old drag chute a TVR he bought.
Sold it on E-bay for a couple hundred bucks

We didn't know what it was at for a long time.
Seemed a bit optimistic for a 2500M /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Next to it is a "montreal" sticker that I plan on leaving there along with the NY inspection sticker from 1968 (not in pic)

The Jaguar I owned for awhile had a can of starting fluid and some extra headlights in the trunk, and a new STP keychain in the glovebox.

The BMW we bought five years ago had a pair of Swiss Army-branded sunglasses in one of the door pockets. I don't think we still have them.

I didn't find it, my wife did, in my car.
Lipstick - Brun Rouge.

I didn't realize there was a drawer under the passenger seat for the longest time, she found it, openned it and found that along with the manuals.
The only reason she knew it wasn't mine (or someone I knew) was a country music CD was also in there. Definately not mine! Honest.

1952 TD - a D&D die, Shrinkydinks, a McDonalds ring, Foodstamps
1967 GT - a Movado - I think it's a fake
1969 Sprite - a Sieko - Don't care if it's real
1971 Midget - a rubbermaid container as a fuse box.
1972 Midget - a wrench & rap in the fender well.
1974 GT - a note telling a friend, if needed, not to use the jack... oh and 50 lbs of acorns!

I found a pair of panties under the passenger seat of a 78 Chevy Monza Spyder. Black, size small. I'll never forget that one. Sorry, no photos.

Found the original sales brocher(sp), the original sales reciept, and owners manual. The spare tire compartment had the tire and a great set of jumper cables. As I was getting into the truck when I picked up the GT the owner told me not to forget this and a big box with a new windshield was put in the back of the PU.

While replacing the sills in my 67 B, I found, inside the sill, wrappers from a fish and chips place. Think they were installed at the factory.

Yeah... IN the sills. That is weird. Lunch ON the assembly line - hehehehehehe.

I've seen this done as a backing for bondo. Was that why it was there?

I drove an '80 Monza in the late eighties. It had a 4 in it but what a comfortable sporty car. I handled amazingly.

Coffee cup inside a door. Door was much less clunky after that was removed.

skeleton,& the keys. Also found the miniture license plates

Haven't found anything in mine, but a friend of mine found a multimeter inside a panel on a brand new car he bought (had 2 miles on it).

I found a 60 pound Raccoon living in my GT when I first went to look at it. He was not impressed. Left him behind but his scent came with the car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

The best thing I found:

When I bought my second Berkeley I discovered it had a broken steering bracket up under the dashboard. I was taking a drafting class in high school at the time. A friend with a shop suggested that I design a replacement, draw and dimension it, and he would make one for me. He did a great job but just had to be funny and stamped "Made in Japan" on the thing. The bracket worked nicely and was left in the car when I sold it (still as a high school student).

A couple of years ago a Berkeley appeared for sale on the VSCCA website and - long story short - I bought it. Since it appeared likely that it was my old car the owner practically gave it to me.

Naturally I checked and, sure enough, the bracket was (is) still there. I still talk with the friend who made it - naturally he'd forgotten completely about it.

The most frightening thing I found:

I was vacuuming my "new" '64 Corvair 2 door (turbo!) back about 1968. I'd owned it about 2 weeks & it was the first time I'd vacuumed it. Something was rattling around in the hose for a while that just didn't want to get sucked into the bag. I finally stopped the thing and found out it was a live .22 cal rimfire cartridge. The vacuum I was using was a "Kirby" that sucked the dirt directly through the aluminum impellor before it went to the bag. I don't know what would have happened but was happy to not find out.

Other things I found:

Mostly junk. We occasionally found empty coke bottles at the dealership inside doors in new cars. We assumed they were "Monday" cars or something.
