What is best glue to use?

I am trying to glue the rubber strips onto my wind shield that I think are drip seals on my TR6. The super adhesive 3m spray glue works great normally, but I think it will only make a mess here. Can someone recommend a strong brush on glue brush that would hold this seal in place?

They're not held on with glue, they're held on with little metal clips. Get yourself some of the clips and either make yourself a tool to push the clips in place, or buy one of the pre-made ones along with the clips. If you glue them, you'll make a mess !

I don't see how clips could hold it in place there - the one I took off used glue (of course with the PO that has done so many wonderful things on this car any thing is possible). The strips are maybe two feet long. They start at the top of the windshield and stop just a few inches above the door switch. I will take a pic tonight and post a pic of the seal so that it is more clear.

Didn't think they needed glue ,but it's been a while.
Also isn't that the part that there are 2 different styles. One fat and one fatter?

I used 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive black on mine 6 years ago and nothing has moved. Part number 051135. It also comes in yellow but you can see the glue unless you have a yellow car.

I believe Justin is thinking of the "belt molding" or "wiper seals" along the top of the doors. they use the clips, and making the special tool to get them in really helps.
Kevin, Are you trying to replace the strips that run up the sides of the windscreen frame that seal against the leading edge of the door glass?
Like Mallard, I would recommend 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive. It's about the consistency of rubber cement, but stronger. Comes in a tube. You should be able to find it at the local auto body supply store.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I didn't know there were different sizes. A number of TR6's at the car show look like they have more to it than the two seals I have. I wanted to look more carefully at some of the Tr6 windshield seals at the car shows this summer, but missed them both. It sounds like I know what glue to use, but I don't suppose someone could post a pic of this area for me so I know how far down the seal goes down?

Thanks for the pics, Keith. My seals do not look like that. I have the fuzzy inner seal with the rubber going to the outside that goes all the way around the door opening. Then I have the rubber drip seal that ends at the door switch. Did you cut the width down on the short rubber seal? It seems like the distance between the two seals is much larger with my two seals.

TRF has two sizes for the outer seal. I put the larger one on my car just to make sure of a tight seal. I think I could have used the smaller one without any leakage. you may have the smaller seal on your car. I also tucked the flat part of the seal under the fuzzy door seal when I installed it on the windshield frame.
