Weber linkage?

Okay, slowing working out bugs.
Today was annoyed to suddenly loose all ability to accelerate, pressing pedal = nothing. Pulled off onto shoulder to find the linkage at the Weber loose. Managed to tighten up enough to go about my business.
Have since found that the lever/bell crank that the throttle cable is hooked on has a round hole, not the "oval" shape of the throttle shaft. Isn't it usually shaped to fit the shaft? Or is the dimple on the lever supposed to be tight enough in the wheel?
See picture and see tell me what you think.
Could easily be it was just too loose and I just need to crank on it.

I moved things around a bit, should be okay. Is this essentially how a Weber would be hooked up "normally?
Here's what I changed a bit.

That wheel-and-arm thingie is a "universal" crank gizmo. The wheel has the center hole cut with flats to secure it to the shaft, the arm "dimple" can be set to any of the holes in the wheel radius to allow for a number of different actuating positions, and "captured" in place with the nut and locktab.

Something you must be VERY aware of is the amount of "oompf" you use to tighten that nut! NEVER tighten it by allowing the throttle plates to be closed and exert force on the shaft. OPEN the throttle and hold it with the wheel or link arm to tighten the nut, put only enough torque on it to keep the arm snug against the wheel dimple then bend the tab over it. ~IF~ you torque that thing with the throttles as the "stop" it will torque bend the shaft, usually just inside the throat at the blade. All manner of odd idle problems will result.

Just a heads-up!
