to all that has posted help with the 40DCOE. I have read lots of post, some disappointed with DCOe webers, some have good comments, Me well just starting the journey, I know these carbs will work, but it might be a long costly journey, but the wife is gone, no girl friend as of now so I have lots of time and money to get it figured out, what a better way to spend the weekends! once I get them right I will post my settings for future people who wantthe performance of DCOE's, I have nothing against the ZS carbs but just not happy with them

Which model of car, and what else have you done to the engine? Many folks are led to believe that DCOE's are some sort of magic potion...but they're not. Nice carbs that look cool but that can take an awful lot of jet swapping, etc., to set up properly...and there still might be no appreciable (read: cost-effective) gain over the stock carbs, unless you've improved breathing, etc.

Andy, I have a 1971 model TR6, nothing has been done to the engine...yet. Yes I know there will be a lot of main jet, idle jet choke tube swaping, It might take some time an $$$ to get it right, and yes I know its not cost effective but hey nothing else I got into was cost effective either, boats, women, fishing, hunting. Once I get this figured out I plan on passing on the iformation

hondo, if you use Alan Myers --jet,emulsion, and choke settings (that he gave in your first post), you will be very close to just right--for your stock motor. One thing that is especially important with the triple Webers is that you should have even compression readings in all cylinders, the readings should be real close together, if they are not you will have problems. It is important to have a better than stock fuel filter as the jets are prone to plugging up. For the webers to work their best on your stock motor it would be good to at least upgrade your exhaust system.
