valve job up-date
Picked up the cylinder head yesterday from the machine shop. I had budgeted $950 - job came in at $916 including parts. Installed and torqued the head today, put back the manifolds (my expert knew about fitting the little dots on the ends of the spacers into the holes), reinstalled the water pump and heater outlet and replaced the valve cover studs removed by the shop. We used new head studs, washers and nuts and new nuts and lock washers. Tomorrow, we'll check out the floats in the carbs and clean and adjust & then install a new o-ring on the drain plug which screws in on my carbs though the manual claims a press fit. Later carbs?
Any other advice at this stage of the work? Thanks in advance.
