Vacuum line?

Okay, what do I use to run the vacuum line from the manifold to the distributor? Is this a soft line, or some sort of hard metal line? The line on my original 948 was metal, but its ends won't fit with the new distributor or 1275 manifold.

I used a rubber line on my 1275 when I switched from a mechanical advance (early original 67' distributer) to a petronix, never had a problem.

Just make sure you don't use the really thin windshield washer rubber line as it will collapse.

Driver or show car? Original was hard pipe, practical is rubber line. Buy a long enough piece (it's cheap) to play with so as to get the "look" you want, then trim to fit.

I used a "hard" vacuum line from PepBoys or similar, you heat it up and it bends to whatever. I like it, rubber fittings either end, it's very thin and inconspicuous.

This car is a driver (Bugeye w/ 1275, disc brakes, etc) so originality is not a big issue here. I'll check in with my local parts store and see what they have. A soft line makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for the replies!
