I'll be there starting sometime Thursday with this car...

(overlook the smoke, it's just some transmission overflow)

Here are some photo's of the car back in the day..

https://www.tr4-racing.de/pic/buzz/74Atcumberland.html (it's the blue #74 as you flip through).

The current owner/driver held the pole at the ARRC in '65 with the above paint scheme. It also has some WGI history (besides National wins), as Bob Tullius and Dick Stockton (current owner) co-drove to an enduro class win in 1965.

I now see I'm not throwing my 4 into the turns near hard enough. I better have a doctor give my heart a real good check up before I try this though........

If you are in fact Buz Marcus, I want to thank you. You sold me my first TR, a 1967 4A. If your not Buz, I look forward to seeing this car in a couple of weeks. :yesnod:

For anyone who hasn't yet seen TS1, this will be your last chance for a while as it has been sold. I believe it is going to a museum in Hawaii.

I'm not, but I hear he might be possibly coming as well as a bunch of other "old timers".

I can't wait for this - I've seen the schedule for Friday, but can anyone point me to any event schedule for Saturday? Part of going to this was to commit to visiting the in-laws north of Syracuse late Saturday, so I need to plead with my wife if there is something I can't miss.

Thanks
Randy

How about after a saturday of goggling more vintage racecars than you can imagine, you can plead for dinner at Seneca Lodge. THE classic hangout for the racers! A trip to The Glen isen't complete without a stop at Seneca Lodge. Just think you may be sitting in the same seat that Sterling Moss, or Nikki Lauda, or Carrol Shelby, Or Mario Andretti, or Grahm Hill, or Colin Chapman, or Lantz Reventlo, or Briggs Cunningham or Jim Clark or any other of your favorite racing legends, may have graced at one time, trading stories and winding down the day with any number of other famous race legends. The food is great, and the beer is cold.(I allow myself to partake of a pint or two on occasions like that)
I think that would be strong case....
Mebbe we can manage to get a table for BCFers.
I'm gonna post a thread in the Pub for any non- Triumph members to join the action too.
So lets move on over there to continue any plan making!

Frank-

We're flying into Syracuse Thursday late, staying around Trumansburg because I waited too long to make arrangements. No ragtop. We're heading out Saturday late afternoon for family visits so I'm afraid I'll miss Banjo's good idea of a get together at Seneca Lodge.

I would say we could do Seneca Lodge Friday night, but the Festival runs until 9 PM and the main street is blocked off, effectivly making it impossible to get around easily by car.
If everyone is going to be up at the track on saturday, or in a specific spot at the festival on friday, we could meet somewhere there too.
The wife and I make it a tradition to get one of the excellent sandwiches from the Glen Mountian Market for dinner before the re-enactment race on friday. the only glitch is that the market is at the north end of town, and I like to watch the re-enactment at "turn 1" down at the south end of town, by the glen.So every year it's a sprint from one end to the other.... hehehehe.

Won't be there for this one (the SVRA entry is too expensive for me).
But I'll be at the vintage races later at WG with ~VRG~ on October 17th - 19th

Have fun! (couldn't you just make peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches and skip the mad dash?) :jester:

~HERE~ is a good picture of a typical street scene during the SVRA event.

It kind of reminds me of riding our Curved Dash Olds replica in the ~Morristown St. Pat's Parade~ (but with less drunk people). :jester:

Wow! PMs flying all over the place!

Anyway, Ben. I'm pretty sure we can put you on the crew list. Just remind me as we get closer to the date.
They may actually need some workers (not flaggers...that's already covered).
But maybe pit-in/pit-out and/or stuff like that.
