I'm finishing up the work on my transmission today. One of the things Frank (spritenut) mentioned was that it's a good idea to replace the tail shaft seal while the transmission is out. I want to make sure I'm looking at the right piece.
Here's the piece I think he's talking about (note red arrow):
Is this the piece in question? Any other things I need to know before I tackle this?
spritenut said:Replace the tail shaft seal just because it's easy when the tranny is out of the car. It is crimped on, a cut off wheel will slice it in half or beat it off with a dull screw driver. Dimple the new one back in 3 places with a dull screw driver.
