Or Whatever it really is!

Just wanted to say thanks to Mike Salter, Tracy Drummond, Ed at Just Brits for posting Tracy's photos, Norman Nock, and Steve Byers (and probably a few others) who provided valuable info on rebuilding the unit. I did it today and it all went back back together like a charm. It would have been a challenge without the guidance! Yes I probably would have bent back those tongs and I would be cursing now.

I also want to thank whoever it was that recommended cleaning the bakelite and then refinishing with india ink and black shoe polish. It all looks brand new now and complements my Mota Lita mahogany wheel beautifully. Thanks to all.

Hey Lin,
Looks beautiful! Where did you get the boss unit for you Mota Lita? I'm looking at the same set up for my BT7 - just dont have the boss or the entire control head yet.

Lin,
Great job. The wheel spokes are upside down in the pic. Just creative picture composition?

Steve

Just call Moto Lita and they'll mail you one from stock. (They have a good web site) I got the same wheel and boss about 3 months ago. Note that they make two,,,one for adjustable colums and one for non-adjustable.

Moto Lita is worth supporting. Although it sounds Italian its an old English firm with a few guys who still make the wheels on the same equipment they were using in the 50s & 60s. They are based at an aerodrome in Southern England.

No financial interest etc etc etc... just pleased with mine.

Steve and Dave,
My wife gave me the wheel as a Christmas present! Isn't she sweet? And an aluminum radiator for my birthday! The wheel and boss came from Hemphills, but I think it was the last one that Gary had (at least at the time).

Dave, you are absolutely correct about the wheel being upside down - just lazy photography, but will be installed correctly so I have a good view of those refurbished instrument faces!

Hi Lin,
In your shoes, I would have mixed feelings about wanting to have birthdays come more quickly. You are fortunate indeed!
