TR6 TR6 Seat Track Reassembly

In my haste to clean & rebuild the seat tracks for my TR6, I neglected to take note of how the track was assembled when I took it apart. All I recall is the need for some persuasion with a hammer to take them apart. During disassembly, the two small rubber-tired steel rollers dropped out of each track. I'm now challenged with figuring out how to get the little buggers back in again so they line up properly in the track to provide full seat movement. None of the books I have provide any clue on how to reassemble.

Does anyone have any trips/hints/pointers on how to stage the two rollers on each track so they are properly positioned upon reassembly?

If you don't get any replies, I think that I still have my old units that I replaced somewhere in the garage. I could take a digital pic of them and post it for you tomorrow. Let me know if you need my help.

You must have used a BIG hammer. I was just looking at a track I have in the garage. The tracks have stops at either end, riveted at one end, and a formed dimple at the other. You need either a BIGGER hammer, (or press), or derivet the one end. I slid the tracks back and forth, and there was no easy way for those rollers to come out. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I didn't really need all THAT big of a hammer. I recall I tapped the floor mounted section of the track rearwards. When the rollers came to a bump, it just required a little harder tap and the rubber wheels compressed to allow the roller to pop over the bump. I should have paid attention to where the track was when the wheels popped out. Oh well, live and learn! I'll probably end up assembling them as close as possible by sliding the track in reversand then use an aluminum dowel to drive them into position on the track. If they're not properly positioned, I won't get the full range of seat movement.

Well I guess if it was still bolted down, it would be easier to "persuade" the rollers past their stops /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif. But I wouldn't know how to get them back in without the track bolted down. Good Luck!
